The National Museum was founded in 1933. In the seventy years of activity, it has significantly contributed to the spiritual and cultural advancement of the city. In museum collections there are around 40,000 items from the realms of archeology, history, ethnology, art history, cultural history. The most valuable ancient collection exhibits artides which testify of the golden age of the imperial Naissus .

House of the Stambolija family
The original owner of the house was the Turk Amet Memetovic. The works on the house began 1875. but it was not finished then. After Nais had been liberated from the Turkish rule, the unfinished house was bought by Todor Strankovic - Stambolija, merchant from Nais. Stylistically it belongs to prophane Balkan architecture.
